I’ve loved painting this little portrait in oils, it’s been such a mindful and relaxing experience, even if I did have to paint the eyes twice!

I used a mix of HB, 2B, 4B and 6B to play with contrast and shading. It was a challenge!

The glasses and beard were the biggest hurdles this week, I still need lots of practice!

Painting portraits is probably the hardest of ALL the art challenges, for me at least.

It’s time to get back to something I love!
