A Tuscany inspired acrylic project using soft glowing colours and a touch of Monet style brushwork.

Starting simple with the sky and sea, then gradually adding waves, depth and those little details that bring it to life.

A bit of everything in this school session — from loosening up with colour and mark-making, to building a full seaside painting step by step.

In this session we focused on building soft sunset skies first, then layering in grasses and finishing with those delicate daffodil details at the front.

We started with a simple underwater scene, then built it up step by step — adding colour, texture and all those little details that bring it to life.


We kept it nice and simple to start with, then built up the layers — background first, then branches, and finally that little pop of colour with the robin.

You can really feel that Monet influence, but still with everyone’s own twist.

Watercolour is one of those mediums that looks tricky… until you realise it’s all about letting go a little.

This is the start of a lovely multi-session after school project with one of my younger students.

This was session one of our acrylic floral paintings, and it’s always such a nice stage — loose, soft and full of potential.

There’s something really special about watching a face slowly appear on the page as confidence builds with each layer of shading.
