A new self portrait.

Painting your own face presents it’s own challenges!

This portrait actually smiles at you.

Painting faces and characters is just my favourite place to be. 🙂

I’ve loved painting this little portrait in oils, it’s been such a mindful and relaxing experience, even if I did have to paint the eyes twice!

I used a mix of HB, 2B, 4B and 6B to play with contrast and shading. It was a challenge!
