The Arthouse Oasis News
This is one of my favourite types of sessions — where technique and freedom meet.
We start with a simple structure: sky, hills, path, flowers. Then gradually build it up using layers of colour, soft blending in the distance, and thicker, more expressive marks in the foreground.
And then comes the magic… texture. Using brushes and palette knives, we create flowers, hedgerows and movement.
Even when everyone follows the same steps, every painting turns out differently — and that’s exactly how it should be.
If you’re looking for art classes in Bishop’s Stortford or Hertfordshire, my studio, The Arthouse Oasis, is a calm, welcoming space where you can learn, experiment and create paintings you’re genuinely proud of — whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to art after years away.
