This was session one of our acrylic floral paintings, and it’s always such a nice stage — loose, soft and full of potential. We focused on blocking in colours, getting the composition right and starting to build those gentle layers that everything else will sit on.

It might look quite rough at this stage, but this is where all the magic begins.
